ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed “Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the “Shanghai Spirit” and to advancing cooperation, connectivity, and shared growth among SCO Member States " at the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
“Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar participated in the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic,” according to a post shared on X by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
Dar thanked the Kyrgyz leadership and Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements in hosting the SCO CFM.
Foreign Minister Dar extended felicitations for the SCO’s 25th anniversary and highlighted the organization’s important work in advancing regional peace, security, prosperity, and sustainable development, the post said.
The foreign minister reaffirmed “Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the 'Shanghai Spirit' and to advancing cooperation, connectivity, and shared growth among SCO Member States.”
He highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace, including the Islamabad Talks and the subsequent Islamabad MoU, which reflected Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy.
He thanked his counterparts for their recognition and appreciation of Pakistan’s sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The foreign minister conveyed Pakistan’s readiness to assume the chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) in September and welcomed all SCO member states to Pakistan for the CHS Summit in 2027.
Pakistan, Chinese FMs exchange views on regional developments
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting, according to a statement released on X by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two leaders held a warm and productive exchange of views on bilateral relations, regional developments, and cooperation within multilateral forums, it said.
The statement read: “The DPM/FM thanked Foreign Minister Wang Yi for appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability, as highlighted during his remarks at the SCO CFM.”
Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed best wishes to Pakistan for its upcoming chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State and hosting of the SCO Summit in 2027, it added.

An interaction between Pakistan's foreign minister and the Kyrgyz president covered regional and global developments.

"Conveying the warm greetings of President Asif Ali Zardari @AAliZardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif @CMShehbaz, the DPM/FM thanked President Zhaparov for the gracious hospitality extended during the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting," the post said.
"The interaction covered regional and global developments, as well as the evolving role of the SCO as an important platform for cooperation," the social media post added.
Foreign Minister Dar underscored the "importance of continued collaboration among SCO Member States as Pakistan prepares to assume the SCO Chairmanship for 2026–27."
