RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists were killed and six policemen, including trainees, embraced martyrdom after militants launched an attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan late Friday night, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.&nbsp;According to ISPR, militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, a faction Islamabad identifies as an Indian-sponsored proxy of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), attempted to breach the school&rsquo;s perimeter security. The attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate in an effort to force entry.&nbsp;Law enforcement personnel on duty responded swiftly and engaged the assailants, killing three on the spot. The remaining two militants were later neutralized during a clearance operation carried out by security forces with precision and coordination.&nbsp;In the intense exchange of fire, six police personnel, including trainees, were martyred, while twelve others and one civilian sustained injuries.&nbsp;The statement added that the attackers desecrated the mosque inside the school complex and killed the Imam Masjid, an innocent civilian performing his religious duties.&nbsp;&ldquo;Security forces and law enforcement agencies, in step with the nation, remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,&rdquo; the military&rsquo;s media wing said. &ldquo;Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and civilians further strengthen our unwavering commitment to safeguard the nation at all costs.&rdquo;&nbsp;Sanitization and search operations in the area are ongoing to ensure complete security clearance and bring any facilitators of the attack to justice.
