China ‘could help a lot more’ on Iran, Trump says

US President Trump says that while Beijing could “help a lot more” in the conflict with Iran, he is not “overly disappointed”.
“I don’t think much. I think maybe helping, but I don’t think much. They could help a lot more,” Trump told Fox News.
He drew a parallel to US support for Ukraine, saying he did not consider China “very bad” given that Washington also assists allies in conflicts.
Oman calls for diplomacy to ensure navigation freedom in Hormuz Strait

Oman’s foreign minister has called for diplomacy to ensure lasting freedom of navigation during restrictions on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Badr Albusaidi said he held talks with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on Hormuz, describing the discussions as “good”.
“As littoral states, we recognise our shared responsibility to the international community and the urgent humanitarian need to free the seafarers held for far too long,” he posted on X.
“Much diplomacy is required and practical solutions to ensure lasting freedom of navigation,” he added.

Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, expressed “sincere and wholehearted gratitude and appreciation” to Pakistan, especially Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their “tireless efforts and good office initiative to end the war and bring lasting peace to the region.”
In a post on his X account, Amiri said the round of talks in Pakistan was held in “complete security, safety and tranquility for the delegation,” appreciating the country’s “perfect management, thoughtful planning and successful implementation.”
“I express my sincere gratitude to the army staffs, security forces, police, employees of all executive institutions and especially the honorable people of Pakistan and Islamabad residents, for their patience, hospitality, and cooperative synergy during this period,” he said.

Transavia cancels some May, June flights on kerosene price rise

Transavia, the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group, will cancel some of its flights in May and June as jet fuel prices soar because of the Middle East war, the company told AFP on Sunday.
The cancelled flights represent about two percent of the airline's schedule, a spokesperson said.
Transavia said affected customers would be offered "a free rescheduling, a voucher, or a full refund of their ticket."
Europe usually imports half of its kerosene from Gulf countries, but the strategic Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly 20 percent of the world's hydrocarbon production normally passes, has been effectively blocked ever since Israel and the United States attacked Iran in late February.

Israel army says soldier killed in south Lebanon

Sergeant Idan Fooks, 19, died "during combat" in south Lebanon, while "an officer and three additional soldiers were severely injured, along with a soldier who was moderately injured and a soldier who was lightly injured", the military said.

The Israeli military ordered the evacuation of seven villages in southern Lebanon on Sunday, saying it would respond to what it said were Hezbollah's violations of a recently renewed ceasefire agreement between the countries.

Hezbollah says Israel violating truce, rejects Netanyahu accusation

Hezbollah on Sunday rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's accusation that it was jeopardizing a ceasefire, and said it would keep responding to Israel's violations and its occupation of south Lebanon.
In a statement, Hezbollah said its attacks on Israeli targets in south Lebanon and northern Israel were "a legitimate response to the enemy's persistent violations of the ceasefire since the first day of the announcement of the temporary truce".
"Hezbollah affirms clearly and firmly that the enemy's continued ceasefire violations and above all its continued occupation of Lebanese territory and violations of its sovereignty will be met with a response and a resistance that is ready to defend its land and people," the statement said.
Lebanon state media says Israel begins striking south after warning

Lebanese official media said Israel's military began striking the country's south on Sunday after issuing an evacuation warning for seven locations, despite a ceasefire with Hezbollah.
"Israeli warplanes launched a strike" in Kfar Tibnit -- one of the locations included in the warning -- the state-run National News Agency said, adding that there were reports of casualties.
Israel's military has carried out repeated strikes in Lebanon since the truce came into force on April 17, and its troops are operating inside an Israeli-announced "yellow line" near the border where Lebanese residents have been warned not to return.
Gaza civil defense says three killed in Israeli attacks

Gaza's civil defense agency said Israeli strikes in the Palestinian territory on Sunday killed at least three people, including a woman.
Despite an October ceasefire, Gaza remains gripped by daily violence as Israeli strikes continue. "Three martyrs and several others were injured following attacks by occupation forces in Gaza City and Khan Yunis," said the agency.
Two men were killed when an Israeli drone fired a missile that "struck a group of civilians" near the Kuwait roundabout in the Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City, the territory's largest urban center, the agency reported.
Gaza's Al-Shifa hospital confirmed it had received the bodies. In a separate incident, a woman was killed after being shot by Israeli forces in Khan Yunis.
Her body was transferred to Nasser hospital, according to the agency. The Israeli military said it was not aware of any incident involving the death of a woman in Khan Yunis, adding it was looking into reports concerning the deaths of the two men.

During the meeting, consultations took place regarding the latest developments in the regional situation, mediation efforts, and endeavors aimed at ending conflicts, during which the Sultan was briefed on the Iranian side's perspectives regarding those developments, said a post shared on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman on Sunday.

More Israeli strikes reported in southern Lebanon: State media
