‘Terrorism has nothing to do with religion’: Deconstructing TTP’s ideology

The terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan invokes religious teachings to justify its violence, including attacks on civilians and security forces, while opposing women’s participation in public life and in education.

It uses religious concepts such as takfir to brand opponents as apostates to justify its violence and attacks against them.

Pakistan has officially revealed networks operating across borders that support these attacks, a claim that its neighbors have denied.

Tens of thousands of lives have been lost over more than 20 years.

A strategic name change aims to reveal the true ideology behind these acts. They did not come to defend Islam; instead, they used it as a shield while promoting narratives favored by India and Israel.

What the so-called leaders of this group fail to realize is that their fake ideology causes Muslims worldwide to face hate crimes and Islamophobia.

Investigations might come later, but stereotypes, abandonment, and marginalization happen immediately.
