ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the upcoming tri-nation series, scheduled to begin on November 17, will continue as planned, featuring Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Speaking exclusively to Pakistan TV Digital, PCB spokesperson Amir Mir confirmed Afghanistan’s withdrawal from the tri-series. Saying the third participating team will be finalized soon.
“The series is on. The third participating team, which will replace Afghanistan, will be finalized shortly,” he said.
The tri-series is set to take place in Pakistan from November 17 to 29. Originally, the tournament was to include Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.
However, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) recently announced its withdrawal from the series due to ongoing border tensions between the two countries.
The PCB is currently exploring the possibility of inviting another team to fill Afghanistan’s slot in the tournament.
