ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, connectivity, energy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
According to a post by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
The post stated that “the two sides reaffirmed the longstanding, brotherly, and close ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan” and expressed “their shared commitment to further expanding cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, energy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.”
The two foreign ministers also highlighted the importance of continued high-level engagement to further strengthen bilateral ties.
“Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin reaffirmed Tajikistan’s support for Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote peace, stability, and the peaceful resolution of regional issues,” the post said.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments and stressed the importance of cooperation through multilateral forums to advance “peace, stability, and prosperity.”
FM Dar meets Uzbek counterpart
Foreign ministers of Pakistan and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between the two countries and reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, connectivity, energy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
A post shared on X by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday said, "Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 met with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov @FM_Saidov, on the sidelines of the SCO CFM Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan."
The two ministers "emphasized the importance of sustained high-level exchanges and closer engagement between the business communities of both countries to further expand economic ties."
"They also discussed cooperation at regional and multilateral forums". "The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments," the post said.
Pakistan's diplomatic efforts lauded
"Foreign Minister Saidov appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace and stability, including its role in facilitating the Islamabad MoU."
"Both sides expressed hope that dialogue and diplomacy would continue to pave the way for lasting peace and regional stability," it added.
