ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, said a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding regional cooperation and strengthening bilateral partnerships.
The statement further said that during his meeting with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, both sides reviewed the positive momentum in Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Pakistan earlier this year.
“They reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the understandings reached during the visit, including the 37 memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries.”
The two leaders agreed to intensify cooperation in trade, investment, transport and regional connectivity, energy, people-to-people exchanges, and collaboration at multilateral forums.
Foreign Minister Kosherbayev appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to advance regional peace and diplomacy. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments and reiterated their shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity.
Kosherbayev invited Deputy Prime Minister Dar to visit Kazakhstan, an invitation he accepted, with the visit to take place at a mutually convenient time.

Separately, FM Ishaq Dar met Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, where both sides reviewed Pakistan-Belarus bilateral relations and reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen cooperation across diverse sectors further.
The two ministers welcomed the upcoming 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, scheduled to be held in Islamabad on August 11–12, 2026. They expressed their commitment to maintaining high-level exchanges.
They discussed expanding economic and trade cooperation while deepening collaboration in defense, agriculture, technology, and workforce exchange. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation (2025–2027).
During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views on regional developments and other issues of mutual interest. Foreign Minister Ryzhenkov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue during the U.S.-Iran situation and commended Islamabad’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and security.
The meetings underscore Pakistan’s continued engagement with regional partners on the sidelines of the SCO forum, with a focus on strengthening economic cooperation, connectivity, and diplomatic coordination.
