ISLAMABAD: India set a target of 176 against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday after Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl in the Group A match.
India scored 175-7 in 20 overs after a strong start, with Ishan Kishan smashing 77 off 40 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes, while captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 32 off 29 balls.
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha provided the breakthrough in the first over, dismissing Abhishek Sharma. Saim Ayub claimed three key wickets, while Salman Ali Agha, Usman Tariq and Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up one wicket each.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and his Pakistan opposite number Salman Agha did not shake hands at the coin toss for their T20 World Cup showdown.
Suryakumar also did not shake hands with Agha in any of their three matches at the Asia Cup in Dubai last year, including the final.
This is a developing story.
