ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for killing terrorists in two separate incidents while they were attempting to infiltrate Pakistani territory, said a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), three terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna Al-Khawarij were killed in two separate engagements in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The Prime Minister commended the security forces for eliminating the terrorists during these operations.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our security forces in their unwavering resolve against terrorism,” the PMO statement said.
In the first incident, the movement of a group of terrorists in the general area of Esham, North Waziristan District, who were attempting to infiltrate across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by security forces, the ISPR statement said.
Through precise and skillful engagement, two terrorists were killed. One of them was identified as Qasim, an Afghan national, who was serving in Afghan Border Police, said the statement.
In another intelligence-based operation conducted in the southwestern district of Tank, security forces neutralized another terrorist identified as Ikramuddin alias Abu Dajana, an Afghan national, the statement added.
“These incidents reveal the continued involvement of Afghan nationals in numerous terrorist activities against innocent civilians and security forces inside Pakistan,” the statement further said.
Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers, while a sanitization operation is being conducted under the ongoing military campaign Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, the statement concluded.
“We are determined to completely eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country,” the PMO statement reaffirmed.
