ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Spain for its victory in the FIFA World Cup 2026, said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday.
The statement quotes PM Sharif as saying, “The Spanish national team displayed exceptional skill, unity, discipline, and teamwork throughout the tournament.”
“I extend my heartiest felicitations to President Donald Trump and the people of the United States, on the exceptional arrangements and successful hosting of this historic tournament,” added the statement.
It further said, “I also express my appreciation to the governments and peoples of Mexico and Canada for their excellent partnership in hosting the FIFA World Cup with such distinction.”
PM Sharif also commended FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the entire FIFA team for their efforts in organizing this mega event, which will undoubtedly strengthen football’s stature as a truly global sport.
“Once again, the FIFA World Cup has reminded us that sport is a universal language, one that transcends borders and inspires humanity. May this spirit of friendship and unity continue to guide us long after the final whistle.”
