Pakistan trains Iraqi forces to strengthen joint counterterrorism capabilities

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army has completed a Special Forces training program for Iraqi Army contingents to enhance counter terrorism capabilities, tactical drills, and integrated mission planning at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) on Saturday.


According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops from both countries demonstrated professionalism and operational expertise throughout the exercise, which emphasized counterterrorism operations, tactical drills, and mission planning.


“All training objectives were successfully achieved, further strengthening the longstanding military-to-military ties,” the statement added.


Both countries reaffirmed commitment to regional security and collaborative defense preparedness.


“The graduation ceremony of the 3rd batch of 446 trainees was held on 29 November 2025, attended by senior Pakistani Army officials and military representatives from Iraq,” the statement concluded.
