Pakistan FM for enhanced compliance with int'l standards to promote economy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday chaired an inter-ministerial meeting to review Pakistan's efforts to enhance economic diplomacy and strengthen international engagement for economic growth, the Foreign Office said.


According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on X on Saturday, Dar emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s engagement abroad, including through enhanced compliance with international standards and obligations.



The deputy prime minister "emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts at the international and regional levels to promote Pakistan’s economy," the statement said.


Dar also "reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable economic stabilization" and directed all stakeholders to intensify their efforts in this regard, according to the Foreign Office.


The meeting reviewed Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to enhance economic diplomacy and improve coordination among relevant ministries and departments. 


The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Bajwa, the secretaries of Foreign Affairs and the Cabinet Division, and senior officials from relevant departments, the statement said.
