ISLAMABAD: Five India-sponsored terrorists including a suicide bomber were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan&rsquo;s Pishin district, Pakistan military&rsquo;s media wing said on Monday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was conducted on Sunday following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to an&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-security-forces-kill-24-terrorists-in-khyberpakhtunkhwa-ibos" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">Indian proxy group</a>, described as &ldquo;Fitna al Khwarij.&rdquo; &ldquo;During the operation, own troops effectively engaged the entire group using multiple weapons. After an intense exchange of fire, a suicide bomber blew himself up, while four other India-sponsored terrorists were killed,&rdquo; the statement said. The ISPR added that weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the dead militants, who were involved in several terrorist activities in the area. Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any other India-sponsored militants found in the vicinity, the statement said. The military said the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-army-officer-martyred-five-terrorists-killed-in-bannu-attack-military" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">counterterrorism campaign</a>&nbsp;under the vision of &ldquo;Azm-e-Istehkam,&rdquo; approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the security forces for a successful counterterrorism operation, saying they were making great progress against terrorist groups every day.&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;The entire nation stands with Pakistan&#39;s armed forces and law enforcement authorities in this war against terrorists,&rdquo; he added.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has conducted precision airstrikes on seven terrorist camps and hideouts along the Pakistan&ndash;Afghanistan border in response to a series of suicide bombings inside the country, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan said early Sunday. In an official statement, the ministry said the strikes targeted camps linked to Fitna al Khwarij, Pakistan&rsquo;s term for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), groups Islamabad says were responsible for recent attacks on Pakistani soil. The ministry said the operations were launched after authorities established the involvement of these groups in multiple suicide bombings, including the attack on an imambargah in Islamabad, as well as incidents in the northwestern districts of Bajaur and Bannu during the holy month of Ramadan. A further suicide bombing in Bannu earlier this week heightened security concerns, officials said. According to the ministry, responsibility for the attacks was claimed by Afghanistan-based elements of Fitna al Khwarij and ISKP, with investigations linking the attackers to leadership and handlers operating from across the border. &ldquo;Pakistan has always strived for maintaining peace and stability in the region, but at the same time the safety and security of our citizens remains our top priority,&rdquo; the ministry said. The strikes come after recent rounds of diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Afghanistan failed last year to produce concrete measures to halt cross-border militant activity. Pakistan reiterated its demand that Afghanistan&rsquo;s interim government fulfil its obligations to ensure its soil is not used for terrorism against other countries, including commitments under the Doha Agreement. Islamabad also called on the international community to play a constructive role by urging the Taliban authorities to honour those commitments, saying such steps are essential for regional and global peace and security. While several violent factions remain active, the Monitoring Team noted that the TTP enjoys greater operational latitude and support compared with others &mdash; a dynamic linked to a marked surge in <a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/four-facilitators-of-islamabad-mosque-attacker-afghan-mastermind-arrested-security-sources" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" rel="noopener noreferrer">attacks against Pakistan</a>.&nbsp;&ldquo;De facto authorities continued to provide a permissive environment for a range of terrorist groups, notably Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan,&rdquo; the report states, endorsing Islamabad&rsquo;s long-standing complaints that terrorists are&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-uncovers-afghanistanbased-terror-network-as-attacks-mount" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">using Afghan territory as a safe haven</a>.&nbsp;Surge in cross-border violence and operational reachThe United Nations assessment underscores that TTP has grown into one of the largest terrorist groups operating out of Afghanistan, developing deep roots across several eastern and southeastern provinces.&nbsp;The group has been linked to many attacks, particularly in the latter half of 2025, contributing to heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.&nbsp;The Monitoring Team also documented expanded capabilities, citing access to modern weapons, training infrastructure, and logistical backing that have boosted the group&rsquo;s lethality.&nbsp;These include advanced small arms, night-vision equipment and even drone systems &mdash; often facilitated through systems of movement passes and permits allegedly issued by Afghan authorities.&nbsp;Al Qaeda ties and wider threat concernsBeyond its cross-border campaign, the TTP&rsquo;s relationship with Al Qaeda remains a central concern. Member states cited in the report warned that the group&rsquo;s operational cooperation with Al Qaeda-aligned networks could broaden its target set and potentially make it an extra-regional threat beyond South Asia.&nbsp;The report further highlights that Al Qaeda continues to act as a &ldquo;service provider&rdquo; for other terrorist groups in Afghanistan, offering training and strategic support, particularly to the TTP, fueling fears of a widening nexus of extremist collaboration.&nbsp;Taliban denials and international frictionThe findings starkly contradict repeated Taliban assurances that no terrorist groups operate within Afghan borders, with the report noting that no UN member state endorsed this claim. China condemns Islamabad suicide bombing, backs Pakistan on security

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday said India has significantly expanded funding for terrorist groups operating against Pakistan, stating that New Delhi is relying on proxy warfare as it &ldquo;cannot fight a conventional war&rdquo; with Pakistan.&nbsp;Speaking to media, Naqvi said militant operatives who were previously paid around $500 are now receiving up to $1,500, reflecting what he described as a threefold increase in funding.&nbsp;He said India is channeling these resources to destabilize Pakistan through terrorism rather than engaging in direct military confrontation.&nbsp;On Friday, city officials said the attacker attempted to enter the Imambargah Qasr-e-Khadijatul Kubra mosque in Tarlai area on the outskirts of Islamabad but was stopped at the main gate, where the explosion occurred as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers. At least 32 people were&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pm-sharif-condemns-mosque-blast-orders-probe" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">martyred</a>&nbsp;and 179 others injured.&nbsp;&ldquo;India avoids direct confrontation and instead wages indirect warfare through terrorism,&rdquo; the interior minister said, adding that Pakistan&rsquo;s security forces are actively dismantling these networks.&nbsp;Naqvi confirmed that several facilitators involved in recent terrorist incidents have been arrested.&nbsp;He said facilitators linked to the Islamabad suicide bombing were apprehended during operations in the northwestern cities of Nowshera and Peshawar.&nbsp;The interior minister further disclosed that the main mastermind of the attack, an Afghan national associated with Daesh, has also been arrested and is currently in custody.&nbsp;According to preliminary investigations, the attackers received training from Daesh elements operating in Afghanistan, he said.&nbsp;Naqvi added that during overnight operations, a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police assistant sub-inspector embraced martyrdom, while three other security personnel were injured.&nbsp;Describing the security situation, the minister said Pakistan is facing a &ldquo;state of war against terrorism&rdquo; and stressed the importance of community cooperation.&nbsp;He urged citizens to report suspicious individuals and unfamiliar visitors in their neighborhoods to law enforcement agencies.&nbsp;Training from AfghanistanEarlier, Pakistan Information Minister Attaullah Tarrar said individuals involved in the recent suicide bombing had travelled to Afghanistan for training, reiterating that the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan would not be tolerated.&nbsp;Addressing a media briefing at Idara Minhajul Hussain, Tarrar said terrorists have &ldquo;no religion, faith, color, or race,&rdquo; adding that their sole ideology is to &ldquo;spread terror.&rdquo;&nbsp;&ldquo;On behalf of the State of Pakistan and the prime minister, I fully assure the public that the government is taking, and will continue to take, full measures for the protection of mosques, Imambargahs, and all religious centers,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;Tarrar said &ldquo;significant progress&rdquo; has been made in identifying the facilitators of the attacker involved in the Islamabad bombing.&nbsp;Condemning the attack, he said, &ldquo;It is unacceptable that on the blessed day of Friday, inside an Imambargah during prayers, when Allah is being remembered and people are worshipping, Muslims are targeted in this manner.&rdquo;&nbsp;&ldquo;I say this with full conviction: there will be no leniency towards extremism and terrorism. We will properly rein them in, pursue them, and hunt them down,&rdquo; he said, adding that the state considers such elements as Kharijites (terrorists) and is fully resolved to eliminate them for the welfare of Pakistan.&nbsp;Commenting on the evolving tactics of militant groups, Tarrar said terrorists have &ldquo;lost the capacity&rdquo; to attack hardened targets and are now targeting suburban and remote areas.&nbsp;&ldquo;This is a sign of their weakness,&rdquo; he said, adding that security forces have largely traced facilitators and handlers.&nbsp;He also said approximately 170 injured individuals are currently under treatment in hospitals, with efforts underway to provide the best possible medical care.&nbsp;Progress in investigationEarlier, according to the sources, intelligence and law enforcement agencies conducted raids in Peshawar and Nowshera based on technical and human intelligence.&nbsp;The sources said four facilitators of the suicide attacker, along with the Afghan mastermind, have been arrested.&nbsp;They added that the planning, training, and indoctrination for the attack were carried out in Afghanistan, warning that under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, ISIS and other terrorist groups pose a serious threat to regional and global peace.&nbsp;Further intelligence-based operations are ongoing, they said.&nbsp;State Minister for Interior Tallal Chaudry said the attacker had been identified and claimed the blast was sponsored by &ldquo;Indian- and Afghanistan-based terrorist groups.&rdquo;&nbsp;He said the bomber had travelled to Afghanistan prior to the attack.&nbsp;&ldquo;These terrorists operate in two forms: those who misuse religion and others like the BLA who weaponize ethnicity. Both are funded in dollars, not ideology,&rdquo; Chaudry said.&nbsp;Rejecting any religious justification for the attack, he added, &ldquo;How can anyone use the name of religion to kill people standing before Allah? No Muslim can do this.&rdquo;&nbsp;

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan armed forces killed 24 khwarij (terrorists) in two separate engagements in the province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. &nbsp;&nbsp;This was stated by Pakistan military&rsquo;s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-security-forces-kill-216-terrorists-in-balochistan-operation-military" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">ISPR</a>), in a statement released on Friday.&nbsp;&nbsp;The ISPR press release stated: &ldquo;On 4-5 February 2026, twenty-four khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.&rdquo;&nbsp;On the reported presence of terrorists, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-security-forces-kill-41-terrorists-in-operations-ispr" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">security forces</a>&nbsp;in Orakzai District, the ISPR said.&nbsp;&nbsp;During the conduct of the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorists&#39; location, and after an intense fire exchange, 14 terrorists were killed.&nbsp;Another intelligence-based operation by security forces was conducted in Khyber District, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/12-indianbacked-militants-killed-in-clearance-operation-after-terrorists-attack-in-police-station-banks-pakistan-army" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">ISPR</a>&nbsp;said.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the ensuing fire exchange, 10 more terrorists were effectively neutralized.&nbsp;Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area as a relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under the vision &ldquo;Azm e Istehkam&rdquo; (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
