WASHINGTON: US intelligence concluded Wednesday that Iran was not rebuilding nuclear enrichment capacities destroyed last year by the United States and Israel, contradicting a key justification by President Donald Trump for his ongoing war.&nbsp;Tulsi Gabbard, a Trump ally who is the director of national intelligence, offered mixed signals on the backdrop and outcomes of three weeks of war as she and other officials appeared before Congress. White House spokesperson Dylan Johnson said the Pentagon &ldquo;briefed the bipartisan staffs of several national security committees in both chambers for over 90 minutes on the military action in Iran.&rdquo; Warnings of potential retaliation Warner said the president missed an earlier opportunity in January, when millions of Iranians were protesting, to take strategic action. At that time, an aircraft carrier capable of supporting operations was off the coast of Venezuela, and European allies were distracted. He described Israel&rsquo;s post-October 7 response as &ldquo;one of the most stunning in history,&rdquo; though fighting continues.&nbsp;Despite ruling out Palestinian statehood, Netanyahu signaled openness to peace with Lebanon and Syria through direct talks. He suggested that defeating Hamas could clear the way for broader normalization with Arab and Muslim-majority states, but warned Western leaders against &ldquo;shoving a terror state down our throats.&rdquo;
