ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Himalayan pink salt, already a global favorite for its purity and mineral richness, has now earned another feather in its cap. The prized natural treasure has received international recognition at the Women in Agritech Global Summit held in Belgium, thanks to an innovative Brazilian product that blends the salt with the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Embassy in Brazil released earlier this week, the award-winning product, a soap marketed under the Savana Amazônica brand, was honored for its unique fusion of natural wonders from two continents: Pakistan’s Himalayan pink salt and Brazil’s Amazonian ingredients.

The global summit, held from September 24 to 27, celebrated women-led innovations in agribusiness and biotechnology.

The recognition is not just a win for the soap creators but a moment of pride for Pakistan, underscoring the nation’s growing presence in the global wellness and cosmetic industries. Himalayan pink salt, long revered for its purity, mineral content, and therapeutic properties, continues to gain traction in international markets due to its versatility, spanning culinary use to health and skincare applications.

Pakistan Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan hailed the achievement, calling the salt “a natural treasure that symbolizes both our cultural heritage and our economic potential.” He emphasized that such recognition paves the way for expanding trade partnerships with Brazil and other regions.

Dr Muhammad Babar Chohan, Pakistan’s trade and investment counsellor in Brazil, noted that the award highlights the success of cross-continental collaboration. “This achievement demonstrates how partnerships between Pakistan’s unique mineral resources and Brazil’s biodiversity can create world-class products with international appeal,” he said, adding that the embassy remains committed to promoting similar ventures.

The award ceremony, attended by global investors and dignitaries, reinforced Pakistan’s ongoing strategy to market its natural resources in value-added global industries.

For Pakistan, the success story is not only about a bar of soap but about the power of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in elevating its natural heritage to the world stage.

As the pink glow of Himalayan salt continues to spread across the globe, this recognition in Belgium serves as a reminder: Pakistan’s mountains hold treasures that shine far beyond their borders.
