ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Jian Zedong and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met on Monday to discuss ways to deepen bilateral security ties and strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism.
According to a post by Pakistan's ministry of interior on X (formerly Twitter), both sides reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and China, describing it as a relationship based on mutual trust and respect.
Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized that China is “a trusted friend of Pakistan, which has stood by the country in every difficult moment.”
The meeting comes amid heightened regional security concerns.
Ambassador Jian condemned the recent suicide attack near the Islamabad District Courts and expressed his condolences over the tragic loss of human lives. China’s ministry of foreign affairs had also issued a formal statement condemning the incident.
The Chinese ambassador said that China will continue to extend full cooperation to Pakistan.
