ISLAMABAD: The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday rejected what he termed as “false insinuations” circulating in sections of the media regarding Pakistan’s position on the ongoing regional conflict.

In a statement, spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said several reports, including those on social media citing so-called official sources, were baseless and did not reflect the government’s stance.

The statement came after various media reports and social media posts attributed Pakistan’s position on the conflict to unnamed official sources, even as Islamabad has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to promote de-escalation and dialogue.

Responding to these reports, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi rejected what he termed as “false insinuations,” saying such claims were baseless and did not reflect the government’s position.

He said any attribution to official sources in this regard was incorrect and expressed concern over the misrepresentation of a recent Foreign Office briefing, where issues were cited that were neither discussed nor alluded to.

The spokesperson emphasized that at a time of heightened regional sensitivity, diplomacy requires discretion and responsibility.

He urged media platforms to exercise due diligence, avoid speculation, and rely exclusively on officially issued statements and readouts for accurate and timely information.
