BEIJING: Rescuers have confirmed another 30 people killed in a landslide in southwestern China, authorities said, with state media reporting the death toll rose to 41.
"Following DNA testing and identification of bodies and remains found at the site, an additional 30 victims have been confirmed," authorities in Chongqing's Pengshui county said late Tuesday.
Rescuers reported last week that 14 people were dead, and warned there were no signs of life in the rubble where they had been searching for 50 missing people.
