ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and T&uuml;rkiye advanced their energy-sector cooperation on Tuesday as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held meetings with T&uuml;rkiye&rsquo;s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, who is on an official visit to Islamabad, an official statement said. Sharif met Bayraktar at the Prime Minister&rsquo;s Office, where he underscored the historic and fraternal ties between Pakistan and T&uuml;rkiye. He expressed satisfaction over the steady progress in bilateral cooperation and reiterated Pakistan&rsquo;s commitment to expanding partnership, particularly in the energy, petroleum, and mineral sectors. The prime minister noted that Turkish Petroleum&rsquo;s engagement in offshore and onshore oil exploration in Pakistan marks a significant milestone in joint energy initiatives. He invited Turkish companies to broaden their investment footprint in Pakistan&rsquo;s growing energy market. Referring to his meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan earlier this year, the prime minister stressed the importance of close coordination amid evolving regional dynamics. Both sides agreed that a Pakistani ministerial delegation will soon visit T&uuml;rkiye to explore further collaboration in the energy and power sectors.
