ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday stated that it &ldquo;precisely&rdquo; targeted military installations and terrorist support infrastructure in overnight strikes in Kabul and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan.&nbsp;In a statement, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting&rsquo;s fact-checker said the operation targeted sites including technical equipment storage and ammunition depots of the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij in Kabul and Nangarhar that were being used against innocent Pakistani civilians.&nbsp;The statement comes in response to the earlier claims by Afghan interim spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, stating that the strikes targeted the rehabilitation center in Kabul.&nbsp;The ministry added that the post-strike detonation of stored ammunition being used by a &ldquo;master terror proxy&rdquo; also fully contradicts the <a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/fact-check-pakistan-rejects-afghan-taliban-regimes-claim-of-civilian-targeting" target="_blank" style="color:#0073e6;" rel="noopener noreferrer">fake claim</a>.&nbsp;Pakistan&rsquo;s targeting is &ldquo;precise and carefully&rdquo; undertaken to ensure no collateral damage is inflicted, the statement said.&nbsp;It stated that the &ldquo;misreporting of facts&rdquo; portraying the site as a drug rehabilitation facility seeks to &ldquo;stir sentiments&rdquo; and cover illegitimate support for cross-border terrorism. &nbsp;&ldquo;The statement is rejected as being false and misleading&rdquo;, it added.&nbsp;Kandahar terrorist infrastructureThe recent strikes precede the earlier strikes last week, when Pakistan&rsquo;s armed forces carried out overnight strikes on terrorist hideouts and military infrastructure in Afghanistan&rsquo;s Kandahar province. The strikes targeted facilities used by the Afghan Taliban and affiliated terrorist groups to support attacks against Pakistani civilians, according to the sources. &quot;Pakistan&#39;s Armed Forces have successfully targeted military installations, including terrorist hideouts of Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij,&rdquo; security sources said.&nbsp;Pakistani forces destroyed technical support infrastructure and an equipment storage facility in Kandahar that sources said had been used to facilitate cross-border terrorist activities. &ldquo;In these attacks, Pakistani forces effectively destroyed technical support infrastructure and equipment storage facilities in Kandahar that were being used by the Afghan Taliban and terrorists against innocent Pakistani civilians,&rdquo; the sources said. Pakistani authorities maintain that the campaign is aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure and support networks responsible for cross-border attacks, while emphasizing that operations will continue until Pakistan&rsquo;s security concerns are addressed.
