DUBAI: Saudi Arabia on Wednesday condemned &quot;in the strongest terms&quot; the Israeli ground operation in Gaza City, a day after Israel unleashed a long-threatened ground assault on the enclave.The Kingdom also urged members of the U.N. Security Council to act to halt what it described as Israel&#39;s killing, starvation and forced displacement of Palestinians, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement,Israel on Tuesday started a ground offensive to seize control of Gaza&#39;s main urban centre.There has been a wave of criticism from countries around the region including Qatar, which has been hosting and mediating ceasefire talks.Qatar described the Israeli ground offensive as a continuation of its &#39;war of genocide&#39; against the Palestinians.After a U.N. Commission of Inquiry concluded on Tuesday that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza, Israel&#39;s ambassador in Geneva, Daniel Meron, called the report &quot;scandalous&quot; and &quot;fake&quot;, saying it had been authored by &quot;Hamas proxies&quot;.

ISLAMABAD: The Israeli military launched its ground offensive Monday to occupy Gaza City, which the Netanyahu government says is aimed at rooting out Hamas, Israeli officials said, according to Axios. The operation is an escalation in the war that has been going on for almost two years and is expected to increase the death toll and exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, almost 65,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed since Israel&#39;s offensive began. Over the last week, the Israeli military increased its airstrikes in Gaza City and flattened dozens of high-rise buildings it claimed were used by Hamas for military purposes. Attack on DohaLast week, Israel launched an airstrike in Qatar, expanding its military actions that have ranged across the Middle East. An Israeli attack on the Darraj and Sabra neighborhoods of Gaza City have left dozens killed, wounded or missing, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday. It identified the targeted locations as the Sakina home in Sabra and al-Shawwa square in Darraj.

The Israeli military has launched a ground offensive to occupy Gaza City. Nearly 65,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli military so far in the war.
