ISLAMABAD: &nbsp;Pakistan&#39;s security forces killed 17 terrorists during a series of intelligence-led operations across several districts of southwestern Balochistan province, the military&#39;s media wing said in a statement.&nbsp;According to Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces conducted a series of operations in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts of Balochistan province. Last month, on May 24, a suicide bombing near a railway track martyred more than 20 people and injured dozens of others after an explosives-laden vehicle detonated as a passenger train passed through the area. Pakistani authorities said innocent civilians, including women and children, were among the victims. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which has been designated as a terrorist outfit by the US and Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack. During the conduct of the operations, Pakistani troops effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations, said the statement. It said that 17 terrorists, who it described as belonging to &ldquo;Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan,&rdquo; were killed, giving &quot;a significant blow to the terrorist networks&rdquo; operating in these areas.&nbsp;Pakistan designates Fitna al-Hindustan as the banned Balochistan Liberation Army and affiliated terrorist groups.&nbsp;The military&#39;s media wing said that weapons, ammunition and a large cache of explosives and prepared Improvised Explosive Devices were also recovered from the killed terrorists. It said that they had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area. It added that the operation is continuing to eliminate terrorists hiding in the area as part of Pakistan&#39;s ongoing counterterrorism campaign, Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. &lsquo;Nation highly values the sacrifices&rsquo;Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the professionalism and bravery of the security forces for conducting successful intelligence-based operations in various districts of Balochistan. &quot;The nation highly values the sacrifices and services of its brave armed forces and law enforcement agencies,&quot; the prime minister said. ISLAMABAD: The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with support from the Government of Germany through KfW Development Bank and in partnership with the Government of Balochistan, has handed over 118 climate-resilient homes to flood-affected families in Hanna-Urak, Quetta District, said a press release issued by UNDP on Friday. The houses provide safer shelter for families whose homes were destroyed during the devastating floods in 2022, supporting communities to rebuild their lives while strengthening resilience to future climate shocks. The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Mir Murad Baloch, Honorary Consul of Germany in Balochistan, and senior representatives from the Government of Balochistan, including Mr. Zeeshan Javed, Secretary of the Planning and Development Department (P&amp;DD); Ms. Batool Asadi, Chief of Foreign Aid, Planning and Development Department (P&amp;DD); and Mr. Naveed Ahmed Sheikh, Director Planning &amp; Coordination at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), alongside local authorities and community representatives. The housing initiative forms part of the Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Program, through which UNDP is supporting the construction of 700 climate- and disaster-resilient houses in Balochistan.&nbsp; Over 150 houses handed over&nbsp;With the latest handover, 158 houses have now been completed and handed over, while the remaining houses are expected to be completed over the course of the coming months as the project continues to progress on schedule. The houses incorporate climate- and disaster-resilient features, including raised plinths to reduce flood risk, reinforced structural elements for improved seismic safety, and improved ventilation to better adapt to rising temperatures. Dr Samuel Rizk, Resident Representative of UNDP Pakistan, noted that the initiative reflects the importance of strong partnerships in supporting communities to recover from climate disasters.&nbsp; He emphasized that together with the Government of Germany and the Government of Balochistan, UNDP is committed to helping flood-affected families rebuild safer homes while strengthening long-term resilience to climate impacts. Pakistan PM lauds security forces for foiling attacks, killing terrorists

ISLAMABAD:&nbsp;Pakistan&rsquo;s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations, said on Friday that 41 terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan on Jan. 29. &ldquo;On 29 January 2026, forty-one terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan, were killed in two separate operations in Balochistan,&rdquo; the ISPR said. An intelligence-based operation was conducted on the outskirts of Harnai District in response to the reported presence of terrorists.&nbsp; During the conduct of the operation, troops effectively engaged the hideout, and after an intense fire exchange, 30 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed.&nbsp; A large cache of ammunition and explosives was also recovered and destroyed on the spot. Another operation was conducted in Panjgur district, in which a terrorist hideout was destroyed, and 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralized.&nbsp; Looted money recovered&nbsp;Besides weapons and ammunition, looted money from a bank robbery in Panjgur on December 15, 2025, was also recovered from the killed terrorists.&nbsp; The terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the past, the statement said. Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area, the ISPR statement said.&nbsp; &lsquo;Azm e Istehkam&rsquo;&ldquo;Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision &ldquo;Azm e Istehkam&rdquo; (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,&rdquo; the ISPR statement concluded. Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan are terms used by Pakistan for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants, whom it accuses of operating from Afghan soil, backed by India.
