ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has dismissed as fake a social media notification claiming the government ordered a temporary halt of all port entries across the country due to the current security situation.

In a statement shared Thursday through the ministry’s official X account dedicated to countering misinformation, the government said the purported notification attributed to the Cabinet Division was fabricated.

According to the viral claim, the Cabinet Division had directed a “temporary suspension of all port entries in Pakistan” until March 10, 2026, citing security concerns.

‘Notification is fabricated’

However, the ministry clarified that no such directive had been issued.

“The notification is fabricated,” the statement said, adding that neither the Cabinet Division nor the Ministry of Maritime Affairs had issued any order to suspend port operations.

Authorities urged the public to verify information through official channels and avoid sharing unverified content on social media.
